Eighteen year old Tom is determined to be a private eye. Except for being a high school drop out, on probation, and hating his job, Tom has a good life. His first client, the sultry night club singer Eva, wants her husband followed on bowling nights.

Tom sees a murder, but cannot convince his raunchy friend Chaz, nor his born-again Flasher friend Luke. When Eva decides to divorce, Tom is forced to face his own intrusive multi-divorced mother and his fatherless childhood. And being too shy to meet the girl next door, who Chaz is moving in on, does not help at all.
